Today marks the fifth anniversary of 9/11 and the tragic death of thousands of human beings in the terrorist attempts that shocked the world and made blood and tears flow throughout the United State of America.
From then till date, terrorism has been a threat around the world and the gospel of hatred the only word in the mouths of unforgiving leaders that have vowed revenge. For five years the end has been to defeat the Muslim terrorists that destroyed the Twin Towers among other vengeful acts on 9/11 in different parts of the world’s most powerful nation. And said end seemed to have sought to justify whatever means to attain victory.
In the best of American style of marketing, the USA has convinced its citizens and the entire world of the roots of evil linked to the Muslims that provoked the 9/11 tragedy. In the most effective manipulation of its secret service and political think tank, the U.S. Administration has connived and plotted to transmit its preconceived image of the Muslim States as the bad guys. Its forceful convictions have tried to drag all Western States to support without a blink its revengeful foreign policy and even threatened in the words of no other than George W. Bush – “.. either you are with us or against us …” as a clear threat against any nation that expressed dissent of such aggressive and obsessive U.S. posture.
The deaths of New York and other states of the USA in five years’ time now fall short of the daily civilian deaths registered in the civil war-torn Iraq and the bombed Lebanon. The illegal arrests and tortures in the secret prisons all over Europe and the Guantanamo camp have violated more Human Rights than whatever rights were transgressed with the insensible 9/11 terrorist attacks of the world’s most powerful nation.
If the rulers of the all-powerful states of the globe wish to convince the public opinion about the correctness of their policies, laws and convictions, it becomes necessary to demonstrate beyond any doubt that each world leader has exercised in office with ethical and moral conduct in defence of Human Rights, promulgation of the rules of coexistence and understanding through the only legalised body for such negotiations, the United Nations.
Any single-handed imposition by any of the world powers of whatever creed, race or
manner of democratic expression must be condemned by all the other states of the world. Unless they so do, each State that looks in the opposite direction to avoid an open confrontation with any revengeful force in full exercise of its military & economic supremacy will have incurred in a crime to the rights of Mankind.
Let this fifth anniversary of 9/11 serve as a moment of reflection to put each world leader that has violated the rules of peaceful co-existence and the exercise of individual & state rights on the stand to be judged for his atrocities. As a reminder for all Americans on such a fateful memorial date, please read the book – The Ugly American – which already tried to call the attention at one time in 1959 about the undeclared atrocities of the Americans in another warfront in Asia.
May the European leaders accept that time has come to say “no” to insensible U.S. foreign policy. Gratitude for the American defence of the Old Continent in the terrible years of Nazism cannot mortgage eternally the aspirations of all Europeans towards a permanent dialogue among different races, creeds and cultures, as has been the path in History that European states have treaded over the centuries.

Both citizenry, Americans & Europeans, have to accept that – “History doesn’t just occur, … someone makes things happen ..”. For this reason, each and every citizen of the world is partly responsible that no vengeful politician or world leader may impose terrorism or government of the powerful. Freedom precisely lies in the free exercise of our rights and the previous compliance of our duties within the framework of a democratic Rule-by-Law.
These words, are our simple way to contribute towards goodwill amongst men of all races and hopefully will create the awareness in all of each one’s share in war or peace. On this sad anniversary, it is our humble contribution to aid cut back hatred and revenge in the hearts of the victims and substitute same with understanding, negotiations and peace.
